North/East Cities Jail Project

Despite the fact that no one wants to build a jail, the cities in North and East King County have had to come together to grapple with what to do when King County closes its doors to misdemeanor offenders in 2015. The County has stated it will not have room in its existing jail facilities to house city misdemeanor inmates after the contract expires. Because of this, the cities across King County are planning a replacement facility for the jail beds they are losing. The Keller Group was hired as the agency of record to plan and execute the public outreach strategy, working closely with the cities to hold multiple community forums, manage media interest and work with the EIS consultant on the EIS public outreach strategy. The process is ongoing with the Draft EIS expected to come out in late 2009 or early 2010. Download showcase
